To keep up with the with customs, here’s my review of the next book I read, “The girl with the Drago Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson (ISBN 978-0307949486), the first of the three books that compose the Millennium saga. (Update as of June 8th, apparently there is a fourth book in the saga, though the last one is from a different author, we still have Lisbeth Salander as the main character).
The original three books were written between 2005 and 2007 in its original Swedish and then they were made movies. Hollywood made its own version of the first book with Daniel Craig and Roonie Mara.
About the book, I think that we can consider it as a story of crime and mystery. It happens across a year, in which a news reporter gets involved in the search for answers about a crime that hasn’t been solved in over 30 years, while dealing with his recent and failed attempt to unveil the frauds of this powerful entrepreneur. Without entering too much into the plot, the reporter gets help from Lisbeth Salander, a very peculiar agent from a security company.
The novel is very intense, I was able to count five climax along the story, one linked after the other and although clues get sowed from the very first pages, surprises don’t cease to pop up. It is a very addictive and captivating reading.
I already got the second book in the shelve (and as of June 08th, I have the four of them already) and they are queued after a long, long list.
